As a tribute to my wonderful boy who put up with flowers all day

Now doesn't he look like a goofball. So yeah I finally dusted off my camera. It was sunny and there was prettyness and it was time. I think I want to work on my editing ability because well, I'm not so good in the digital darkroom. Anyways the weekend was great and things have been going pretty well. This quarter is flying past and I am excited for next year. Jamie, Shelby, Hallie and I have been scouring bellingham for a place to live....EEEK! Hopefully we figure that out soon. I am going home for the summer and working at the fuel dock (thanks to shay) and possibly as a sailing instructor (thanks to andrew). It's been sunny here for almost two weeks, its absolutely breathtaking and it makes me not want to leave. Just when I am getting used to life here its going to turn on it's head. It took adjusting and a lot of missing above boy but I really do love it hear. The bay reaches out underneath my window and the sunset is amazing almost every night. I live 10 feet from my friends and I don't know I guess I finally am content. It's a good feeling. Going home will be different, my life is so different, and I think I'm a little different, but it will be good to see everyone for one last summer.

More from Lakewood

Still Waters

We were supposed to have a regatta today, but what we got was fog, and maybe about 2 hours of shifty crummy wind. Something about the stillness works so much better in black and white.

Where have the sunny days gone?

This was about a week ago, it was magnificent. I miss the SUNSHINE! Ah well I guess the dreariness has its' own sort of charm.

College

I wish someone would have told me how hard it is to grow up.

It is amazing to me how much pain the time between two happy lifestyles can cause. After high school my friends and I set off with dreams and plans, some are still on the paths they set out on; others have a new plan for their lives, and others are just lost. One thing is certain though, they’re all in pain. I don’t understand how finally having the opportunity to set out on your own and make your own decisions, finally having the ability to truly live and fly from the nest and all of that can make everyone so sad. Walking through a college campus there are friends and classmates and opportunities and beauty and growth but more-so there is an overarching sense of loneliness, indecision, and confusion in every individual. Why are we even at college? What is the point? Who do we want to be? Where do we want to go? And most of all, Does anyone care?

I know that this will be one of the greatest journeys of my life and I guess when I feel so alone it helps to think that I am alone with thousands of other of age children, trying to learn to grow up.
